yourbodyischanging asked: How did you get started? Any time I've tried, I got inspired by weight loss that happens for me on a regular basis (I fluctuate with the seasons). I'm beginning to think that I'm not actually making any impact, but instead feeling good about what would happen without putting in the effort regardless.
I remember hearing once that it takes 3 weeks to form a habit, and I applied that to my dietary and activity changes. I worked out every single day and did not have a single cheat day for 3 weeks, and hot damn if it really didn’t change my outlook on both eating and exercising. I’m sure there was some mild placebo effect going on, but it really helped me get started and stick with a routine.
I think many people fluctuate with seasons, in the winter it’s totally natural to crave comfort foods and not want to be as active since, well, it’s fucking cold out.
If you’re aware this is happening, while you can feel temporarily good with the upcoming drop, what happens with the upcoming gain? This will just cycle indefinitely. Content-ness is fleeting.
