30 Days Of Weight Loss Challenge: Day 18
Day 18: What food is your weakness?
I still love the hell out of food, and that ain’t ever gonna change. Generally speaking, I still eat what I want, but I view my calories like I do money: I have a certain amount to spend on any given day, going over will cause problems. That means there are obviously foods that I love, but I just don’t view as worth the calories.
I present to you, My Top 5 Fat Foods And Their Horrific Nutritional Facts.
- MAC AND CHEESE

I’m talking real, homemade with love mac & cheese, not from a box. Full of noodly, cheese wonderment. It tastes like cheesy angels singing the praises of noodle Jesus. Whoever first concocted this perfect dish really deserves a Lifetime Achievement award. But, and there’s a big but(t), literally, if you eat this stuff.
THE GOOD: 38g of protein per serving.
THE BAD: 900g of sodium per serving (that’s nearly half of your recommended daily sodium intake).
THE UGLY: 860 calories per serving, over half of them from fat.
- French Fries

I can’t think of a food that I could eat more mindlessly. Anytime I ordered something at a restaurant, this came with it, and I finished every. last. one. No matter what! Even if I wasn’t hungry. To make matters worse, places like Pommes Frites exist, and is within walking distance of lots and lots of bars. Perfect to soak up beer.
THE GOOD: No cholesterol, what so ever.
THE BAD: 4.2 grams of Trans Fat per serving. This is bad fat.
THE UGLY: 500 calories per serving. That’s in addition to your burger/wrap/sandwich, which will start around 600 calories. Half your daily intake in one sitting.
- BAGEL WITH CREAM CHEESE

This was one of my absolute FAVORITE breakfast items. I dream about cream cheese, seriously. It’s God’s perfect little gift to my mouth (why do I keep comparing religious figures and dairy products?). But did you know a bagel is actually worse for you than a doughnut? Higher in everything except sugar.
THE GOOD: Low in cholesterol and sugar.
THE BAD: 60 grams of carbs in a serving. More than a quarter of your recommended daily intake.
THE UGLY: 480 calories for one bagel with a serving of cream cheese. That doesn’t seem so bad, but this is not as filling as, say, a 3-egg omelet with veggies and cheese would be, which would actually be closer to 350-400 calories.
- WHITE CHOCOLATE RASPBERRY CHEESECAKE

Specific? Yes. But it’s my favorites list, so STFU. It pained me to google image search for these, because LOOK AT IT. HOLY SHIT. I just want to put my whole face in it.
THE GOOD: high in vitamin A & Calcium, plus 1 slice has 7g of protein, not bad for a dessert.
THE BAD: A slice is 29g of fat. I am very anti FAT MAKES YOU FAT, but that is a shload of fat for a piece of dessert.
THE UGLY: 415 calories for 1 slice. That’s typically an entire breakfast for me.
- COOKIES AND CREAM MILKSHAKE
Namely, the ones from Chick-fil-A, I am pretty sure it’s 1 part magic, 6 parts awesome and 2 parts crack. No seriously, what are these made of? It’s fucking delicious. Oh, kitten’s blood, you say? Gimme some tabbies.
THE GOOD: Super high in Calcium and 14g of protein in one shake.
THE BAD: 77g of sugar in one shake. Diabetes, anyone?
THE UGLY: 570 calories for the whole thing. As much as a typical dinner for me.
These foods are all luxuries, I may eventually treat myself to some again one day, but I don’t view them as worth it anymore. I’d rather spend my calories on lower calorie options, so I get more bang for my buck.
