Anonymous asked: Ok, so I'm 24 years old. I have always struggled with my weight but back in October I decided that this just could not go on any longer. I don't have an actual 'goal' weight... (mostly because I've never been small so I don't really know what to expect) I'm just kind of going with it. I have a lot to loose to get anywhere near thin but I'm doing a damn fine job so far. I'm down 30 lbs.

I had to do a second box, sorry. lol. So anyway, When I came across your blog I was like YESS this girl is amazing and we are totally on the same track. My question for you though… if you don’t mind answering… is, did you have any issues with skin? I’m really nervous I’m going to have loose skin everywhere! I’m working out and building muscle so the skin has something to attach itself to but do you have any tips and also about how long has it taken you to loose the weight you have lost?
First things first, good for you for getting started and sticking with it! 30lbs is a huge step, you should feel super proud of yourself.
I touched on this topic not too long ago. It’s something a number of people are concerned with, especially if you have a lot to lose.
I do have loose skin, mostly on my belly and a little on my upper arms and upper thighs. It continues to tighten up with time, and I just keep losing so the fat can’t hang out in there and make it sag (super attractive).
While it is annoying, I would muchmuchmuch rather be healthy than avoid losing weight for fear of loose skin. The skin WILL catch up, it will just take time, like all aspects of losing weight.
Just keep doing what you’re doing, your body will react. Skin is a living organ, and will tighten up along with you.
As far as how long it’s taken me - I’ve been at this since July 2010 and have lost almost 145lbs. I know it’s a marathon and not a sprint, but I really am ready to be done with the losing part and move on to maintaining. Totally learned my lesson!
